Bishop's miters

The miter covers the head; it is used by bishops on the divine service. Usually it has the form of the formerly crown worn by the Byzantine emperors.

The miter symbolizes both the Savior's crown of thorns, the sign of the imperial dignity and splendor of the Savior, as well as the honor received by the bishop from Christ, as main representative of the holy.
